Its scientific name is Vampyroteuthis infernalis (literally meaning "vampire squid from hell")
It is neither a true vampire nor a true squid.
Its body is a strange reddish color.
It has webbed tentacles that resemble a cloak.
It has eyes that can be seen as red or blue depending on the light.
It has fins on its head that help it swim.
It has spines all along the undersides of its tentacles.
It lives 2000+ feet deep in the ocean where it is very dark.
It can turn inside-out and hide behind its tentacles in "pumpkin" posture.
It has photospores all over its body and can eject bioluminescent mucus from its arm tips to distract predators.

It's scientific name is my fave part.  That and the spikes on it's tentacles.
